You know that a toothbrush is an integral part of your dental hygiene routine. However, there are many facts about the toothbrush that you are probably not aware of. Continue reading to learn some fun and interesting facts!
How old is the toothbrush?
The toothbrush has existed, in various forms, for 5,000 years. In ancient times, a chew stick was used to remove food from teeth. This thin twig had a frayed end. These tooth-cleaning tools slowly evolved from there to the toothbrush we know and love today.
Is it better to brush or floss first?
It doesn’t matter as long as you brush and floss each day.
How should a toothbrush be cleaned and stored?
Remove toothpaste and plaque by rinsing your toothbrush in tap water. Then store your toothbrush in an upright position where it can air dry. Only store a toothbrush in a closed container when you must, as a closed container is more conducive to the growth of unwanted bacteria.
How long should each tooth brushing session last?
Brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time. If you have a hard time brushing for long enough, try using a timer.
