Dental Crowns: Instructions for Care

Posted .

We are honored to provide dental crowns at Diamond Dental Family And Implant Dentistry. Permanent dental crowns can perform miracles for your pearly whites, and they take only a simple effort to care for. Look out for your dental crowns and defend your teeth and dental health by reviewing and practicing the following tips straight from Dr. Tom Supakorndej and the Diamond Dental Family And Implant Dentistry staff.

The broadest and best recommendation we can give you about maintaining your permanent dental crowns is to monitor how they’re feeling. Pearly whites naturally move around and change positions over time, but dental crowns (which are not organic) do not. If your crown starts feeling too big or too little for your mouth, reach out to us. If you start noticing sensitivity in the tooth with the crown, it’s possible that some of the glue from the crown could have become loose, and we’ll need to see you for repair; wobbly crowns or crowns that have fallen off will need to be repaired in our office. Finally, although it’s very rare, it’s possible to have an allergic reaction to metal crowns, so reach out to us if your crown is reacting with the nearby gums in your mouth.
